Community Guidelines

Community features may not be available everywhere. When they launch, these rules will apply alongside the Terms and Acceptable Use Policy.

Principles

Cookie's community spaces should make home cooking easier, kinder, safer, and more useful.

Share practical cooking knowledge, credit sources, respect dietary and cultural differences, and remember that kitchens, ingredients, equipment, budgets, and health needs vary widely.

Respectful Behavior

  • Be constructive, specific, and civil.
  • Do not harass, shame, threaten, discriminate, or attack people based on identity, body, religion, health, diet, skill level, or household choices.
  • Respect cultural context and avoid presenting personal preference as universal truth.
  • Do not pressure people to ignore allergies, medical advice, religious restrictions, or ethical dietary choices.

Recipe Sharing

When sharing recipes, include enough detail for safe and repeatable cooking. Label allergens where you know them, avoid false health claims, and credit inspiration where appropriate. Do not copy protected recipes, photos, videos, or text from others without permission.

Images and Media

Only upload images or media you have rights to share. Do not upload private images of others without permission, graphic content, unsafe instructions, misleading before-and-after claims, or images that violate law or platform rules.

Comments and Feedback

Helpful feedback explains what worked, what changed, and what might help another cook. Avoid spam, self-promotion, affiliate abuse, fake reviews, brigading, or misleading claims.

Food and Kitchen Safety

Do not encourage unsafe food handling, dangerous appliance misuse, eating unsafe ingredients, ignoring allergen labels, or replacing medical advice with community suggestions. When in doubt, advise caution and professional guidance.

Moderation

Cookie may use reports, automated tools, and human review to moderate content. We may remove content, limit distribution, add warnings, restrict features, suspend accounts, or terminate accounts that violate these Guidelines, the Terms, Acceptable Use Policy, or law.

Appeals

If you believe moderation was wrong, contact support@cookie.kitchen with the account, content, date, and reason you believe the decision should be reviewed.
